Description

Positioned in strategic locations over the ground floor of the Tully Library, these sculptures of two cloud forms create a dramatic sense of place upon entering the building. The clouds are comprised of hundreds of cast aluminum elements suspended from the ceiling. Chromed surfaces play with the artificial and natural light within the space and the repetitive patterns of the figures define atmospheric volumes and form a ceiling above. By juxtaposing hundreds of digitally faceted, cast human figures that are hung in the form of the topography of the landscape with pruning from an orchard in a form of precise geometry, the sculptural presence of these forms ponders the ambiguity of an agricultural past and a technological future.
