In this outdoor landscape sculpture and interior installation, images of the winter refer to the mutable forms of the local northern terrain. Sliced and etched granite seating of glacial boulders and a prairie landscape garden provide a definition for the exterior entry. Playing with light and alluding to the physical qualities of ice, three chandeliers made of water-jet cut aluminum snowflakes descend from the rotunda ceiling. The diffraction and reflection of light from their surfaces recall the qualities of snow, ice, and sun.
