This stone sculpture is made of marble and is one of four sculptures for the new leading-edge technological Central and Wolfe Campus in Sunnyvale, CA. Its elegant form is based on minimal geometries obtained from a single block of stone. Formal paradoxes at play include convex and concave, darkness and light as well as mirroring and translucency. These material states are achieved through a complex process of robotic milling. The sculptures are the centerpieces of intimate seating areas that ring the perimeter of the new campus.
