Black Diamond Fountain Plaza is one of six entry plazas that act as nodal points for social interaction along the main pathway at the 52-acre Moffett Towers Corporate Campus in Sunnyvale, CA. This plaza features a composition of grasses, trees, two granite recycled water fountains, a sculptural elliptical table, and varied seating options. The shifting scales of the two fountains titled Lobed Fountain and Diamond Fountain combined with Elliptical Table and Chairs form a horizontal axis parallel to the office that creates separate yet collective opportunities of interest and reflection. For this LEED Platinum project, each fountain is a bubbler that uses recycled water and automatically shuts off in high wind conditions. Like an outdoor room, the plaza helps extend the workplace to the outside and encourages users to stay on premise throughout the workday.
